Celtic Colours International Festival Alive and Well in Cape Breton


 
Celtic Colours is alive and well on Cape Breton Island. The colours are perfect and the music is the best you will find anywhere. Come and find out why Cape Breton is famous for its Celtic Music and why we draw people from around the world just to hear it. Looking for something really interesting to do during Celtic Colours. During Celtic Colours Week the Gillis Boat Tours will run October 12, 13, 15, 16 &17.

1-Two hour tour "Catch a Live Lobster", departs at 2pm-Oct. 12, 13, 15, 16, 17. Adults $42.00, children under 12 $30.00 plus taxes. See website for complete details.

2a-Come on board with Photographer Steve Rankin Sunday Oct 12th from 2-4pm. Hear from a local expert on capturing the sea, land and people in his photographs...,. How does Steve go about getting that special shot?
 

2b- Come on board with Harvey Beaton Cape Breton Step dancer and Musician -Monday Oct 13 from 2-4pm. He is close to the floor and close to his music. Harvey will speak about and demonstrate the local step dancing tradition.
 

2c- come on Board with Orain Na Mara-songs of the sea.-Wednesday Oct. 15, 2-4pm. Learn about the powerful connection the Gaels had with the sea through their songs. Frances MacEachen, Gaelic Affairs, will give historical and cultural context to the songs and share a few that are enjoyed by Nova Scotia Gaels.
 

During all the above tours Captain Danny Gillis will also do the hauling lobster demonstration. Enjoy the interesting guests & discussions throughout the remainder of the tour.
