The Centre for Distance Education is hosting a skating party with special guest Violetta Afanasieva! Admission is FREE! Violetta Afanasieva is a remarkable and exciting ice skating performer. She was born into a circus family and no wonder she is a marvel on the ice, her mom was a three time Moscow junior pairs champion and her dad was a graduate of the Russian School of Circus Art. Violetta had competed nationally before retiring from amateur skating at age 10 to perform professionally alongside her parents in the Moscow Circus on Ice. During this time of her career she debuted her legendary hulahoops act, which took her on skating tours all around the world. In this season of Battle of the blades she was paired with NHL player P.J.Stock.
