Glad that you had such a great experience on Cape Breton Island. The island has so much to offer our visitors, great music, beautiful scenery and great activities to do while they are here from sailing to surfing, from golfing to hiking, we are very lucky.
DeleteJust drove across the causeway at 8pm and they are still there. Seen at least 7 of them
ReplyDeleteIt was great to have the whales in the area, and for such a length of time, it was amazing for our visitors to see. Did you get any pictures of the experience? We would love to see them. Send them along to stpeters@dcba.ca and we will share them on the blog.
DeleteWe crossed the causeway this morning at around 5:30AM traveling our 16 hour trip home in the US. We spotted four whales, 1 seal and an uncountable number of dolphins spread throughout the waters. We stopped in the weigh station and watched in amazement. There were also thousands of birds that looked like seagulls, but they had really long necks. They would dive bomb into the water at about 30 feet (apparently fishing). The birds would drop into the water just hundreds at a time. The entire site was amazing and one our family is sure never to forget. Can't wait to get back next year for our annual trip.
