The Fortress
of Louisbourg is being used again for the filming of a Mini Series, this time
it is for a Mini Series based on Lawrence Hill's acclaimed novel, The Book of
Negroes. This is what the Fortress is saying about the filming and on upcoming
events.

Filming at the Fortress – The Book of Negroes mini-series
Film crews
are on site preparing for next week’s filming of scenes for a mini-series based
on Lawrence Hill’s acclaimed novel, The Book of Negroes. The Fortress will be
set up as 18th-century New York City (Canvas Town). Visitors are welcome during
this time and should note that entrance fees apply. So if you do not yet have
your annual Discovery Pass or your Fortress of Louisbourg Seasonal Pass, be
sure to pick one up. Next week is the actual filming and when the
"stars" will be around.
Research and Planning
As we prepare for Louisbourg 2014, we are
already planning for 2015, 2016, 2017 and beyond. Much of the work of Fortress
Louisbourg Association and Parks Canada staff is about meeting with partners to
create new experience opportunities for visitors each year. The new partnership
with Synergy Louisbourg Development Society has opened many doors for work with
business and community groups to plan events leading up to 2017, Canada’s 150th
birthday.
