This summer Destination Richmond Tourism Cooperative has Kayla Bona and Janelle Boudreau two student musicians from Richmond employed to participate in the Music on The Cape Breton Heritage Coast Program. Kayla who sings and plays the fiddle and Janelle who plays the fiddle will be entertaining visitors at venues throughout the County this summer. The program enables the musicians to interact with the visitor to create a lasting experience for visitors to the Richmond area. Visitors can hear our traditional music, ask questions of our entertainers and interact with the locals who have come out to take part in the entertainment.

Operators who hold a full membership or friends of tourism membership of Destination Richmond Tourism Cooperative are now able to book lively entertainment for customers to enjoy and will enhance the experience of the visitors at your museums, community functions, shops, and festivals and events free of charge.
The program will also provide the musicians with a chance to live and work in their own community while developing their performances skills and provide the experience of working in a professional setting. The ability to move around the county and take part in the numerous style events while welcoming the visitors give the young entertainers the opportunity to convey their love of traditional Cape Breton music and their knowledge of Cape Breton life style to the visitors on the Cape Breton Heritage Coast.

This exciting new promotional venture spearheaded by Charlene Marshall, Partnership Co-ordinator for Destination Richmond Tourism Cooperative, is remarkable and includes communities, organizations, and musicians, all striving in the goal of highlighting our talent, culture and hospitality to visitors to create an experience that surpasses visitor’s expectations.
