Ballet at Strathspey Place Tonight
On June 3,The Bras d'Or School of Dance will proform the Production of Alice. This charming production which is bound to intrance the audience will take place at Strathspey Place in Mabou at 7pm.
I am thrilled to be attending the ballet this evening, for the production of Alice in Wonderland. I have a special interest in this production as my granddaughter will be performing in her first ballet recital. The dancers have been working very hard learning their parts, weeks of practice, preparations for costumes, hair and make up have all been taken care of and now the night is here as all the promising young ballerinas are anxiously awaiting the raise of the curtain. Parents and friends will take their seats and will definitely be a little nervious as their little stars wait in the wings waiting to take their place on stage. As stated in the formal press release. "The production will translate into movement the clever words of Lewis Carroll is the challenge the dancers of Ballet bras d'Or have taken on this spring in their production of "Alice" at Strathspey Place in Mabou. This contemporary work to the musics of Saint Saenss Carnival, Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon and Prokoviefs Concerto in G minor will try to combine the magical places, nonsensical characters, and some of the larger concepts that could be gleamed from the internationally renowned story."
