Destination Cape Breton Association in partnership with the Nova Scotia Department of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism and Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation are pleased to offer a Community Festival and Event Workshop. Special guest at the workshop will be Joella Foulds. She will present the Celtic Colours International Festival success story. The Festival and Events Workshop will take place on February 24th at the Gaelic College in St Ann’s from 9:30am until 3:30pm. Sign in will be between 9:30 and 10am. Some of the presenters and topics under discussion will include Sadie Anne Thomas-Frye, talking on Tourism Marketing Programs-Tourism Experience and Festival and Events Marketing Program Qualification, applications & Reporting, Gerard McPhee talking on Festival & Event Funding Program-Criteria, Applications & Reporting, Dan Coffin on targeted use of Social Media-Promoting your festival online. On February 16th, the Municipality of Richmond will be hosting two information sessions with Harvey Sawler. The first session is Isle Madame Tourism Product Assessment, which will be held at the Municipality Office in Arichat at 2pm. And the second session is the St. Peter’s Tourism Product Assessment and will be held at the Bras d’Or Lakes Inn in St. Peter’s. With one of the most romantic occasions “Valentine’s Day” quickly approaching, travellers to Richmond may want to treat their special someone to a romantic dining experience. St. Peter’s has two perfect spots for this purpose. The MacDonald Country Inn will be offering a Valentine Special from 4:30 to 8:30pm offering a 3 course meal with a choice of Seafood Bake with herb and lemon cream sauce, or Stuffed Chicken Breast with mushroom cream sauce, served with choice of potato for the main course and for a perfect finish after a delicious dessert, end the evening with a truffle and Champagne.
Louie’s Cozy Corner Restaurant in St. Peter’s is also offering a Valentine Special between 4 to 9pm with a 3 course meal with appetizer, main course of Surf & Turf with 8oz Sirloin Steak and Scallops or BBQ Chicken & Ribs both served with choice of potato or Seafood Linguini with garlic bread, and dessert.
