The 1st Annual Good Health Festival is coming to Cape Breton on July 8th to 10th , and will be hosted at the Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort. The festival will raise funds and awareness for a women’s health and wellness retreat put on by Breast Cancer Action Nova Scotia and the Good Health Festival Society this October. The idea is that the organizers will hold a number of different guided adventures, workshops, demonstrations and musical acts to raise awareness and promote healing through invigorating adventures and restorative wellness practices.
The festival will take place between July 8th and 10th at the Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort in Indiana Brook. The Adventures and Workshops which are included are as follows.
Guided Kayaking, Hiking, Canoeing, Yolo-boarding, a Silent Auction, as well as Qi Gong healing arts workshop, NIA dance class, Yoga, a variety of musical acts and great food! All events will range from $10.00 to $65.00. The festival is open to the general public as well as guest staying at the resort.
Event Itinerary:
Friday, July 8th:
3pm on: check in, front desk, Cabot Shores lodge, opening of silent Auction, and opening of Art Gallery.
5pm-Opening Ceremony
6-7:30pm- Dinner
8pm-Film Screening of “Planeat”, ($10.00 in advance, $12.00 at door)
Saturday, July 9th:
7:30-9am-breakfast and day registration
8am- Brief early morning Qi Gong session in Main lodge ($10.00)
8:30am Brief guided meditation session in main lodge-free
9:30-1200 noon-Guided outdoor Adventures: North River Kayak, guided hike and canoe/Yolo Board tours ($65.00 North River Kayak, $30.00 Canoe/Yolo Board Tours, $20.00 Hike).
9:30-10:30am-NIA with Carol Kennedy in main lodge ($15.00)
10:30am-noon- Yoga with Amber Buchanan in main lodge ($15.00)
Noon-1:30pm-Lunch
1:30pm-4pm-Guided outdoor Adventures: hike and canoe/Kayak/Yolo board tours on the Cabot shores Lake (same pricing as in the morning session)
4:30pm- 5pm- Exhibition from Windsurfing NS and Kite Surfin NS-free
5:30pm-6:30pm- Happy Hour and Hors D’Oeuvres
6:30-8pm –Dinner
8pm-Music and dance Concert
