Cape Breton Island is Throwing a Party and You Are Invited

St. Peter's Visitor Information Centre as part of Destination Cape Breton Association in partnership with the Municipality of Richmond will be hosting a celebration Party in honor of Cape Breton Island being named #1 island in North America and #3 island in the WORLD!!! /There will be local entertainers from the Native, Scottish and Acadian communities who have generously donated their time to come and entertain. We will also have a display of beautiful items from our gift shops and crafters to give some indication of why visitors enjoy our area so much.Please come out and join in the celebration from 2-4pm on July 22. If the weather is fine the party will be at the St. Peter's Visitor Centre at 10259 Grenville St. across from the Natural Resource Building, and if it is raining the party will be at the United Church Hall in St. Peter's. Looking forward to seeing you!

DCBA Celebrates New Designations with Island Wide Party

Sydney, NS – Destination Cape Breton is coordinating, with municipal partners, a simultaneous Island wide party to celebrate the latest Travel + Leisure designations as #1 Island Destination in Continental US & Canada, and #3 Island Destination in the world!

On Friday, July 22nd, from 2-4 p.m., each municipality will host an event showcasing the unique elements that make us #1. The CBRM event will be held adjacent to the Civic Centre on the Esplanade and will feature cultural entertainment and a performance by J.P. Cormier & the Elliot Brothers. On site will be a ‘speaker’s corner’ type video booth, where residents can congratulate Cape Breton on these accolades.

Inverness: Margaree Visitor Information Centre, 7990 Cabot Trail
Richmond: St. Peter’s Visitor Information Centre, 10259 Grenville St.
Victoria: Baddeck Visitor Information Centre, 454 Chebucto St.
Town of Port Hawkesbury: Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre

“This is a way for our communities to share in the celebration of these fantastic designations and showcase the spirit of our Island,” says Mary Tulle, CEO of Destination Cape Breton. “We certainly have a lot to be proud of and it’s important to take the time to recognize the accomplishments of all who provide our visitors with a world class experience.”

These events are open to the public and are free of charge. All are encouraged to come out and help us celebrate our new designations!
