Cape Breton Receives Top Rank as an Island Destination

This is absolutely Great! As Cape Bretoners we already know that Cape Breton Island is spectacular, we hear it all the time from visitors coming to our shores. As a visitor counsellor I hear stories from visitors everyday, about the scenery, the views, the Bras d'Or Lakes and the Highlands, the Fortress of Louisbourg, our ceilidhs and history so I know just how lucky we are to live on this marvelous island. But to see it receive credibility as number 1 island to visit in Continental US and Canada and Number 3 Island in the World, from the Travel and Leisure Magazine Readers World's Best Awards, just makes a person want to hold their head up just a little higher.

I just received this information from Lou Leith of Destination Cape Breton Association about the recognition and I just had to pass it along.
