View of Richmond

Planning a visit to Richmond County? In Richmond it is definitely true that every turn you take in the highway leads to a new experience; where festivals, entertainment, delicious food, and artisans work awaits you. From July 27th to August 7th there will be 3 festivals taking place, with lots of fun activities for the entire family. July 28th to July 31st, the Lennex Passage Yacht Club Harbourfest takes place. July 27th to July 31st, the 49th Annual L’Ardoise Acadian Festival will take place. And from August 1st to August 7th the Nicolas Denys Days takes place in St. Peter’s.Some of the events that will be taking place during these festivals are Community Breakfasts & Dinners (Turkey, Meat Pie and Seafood Chowders etc.) which are always great, festival dances as well as square dances, some with live entertainment others with recorded music, and boat parades in Lennex Passage and L’Ardoise. And lots of activities and game booths for the entire family and the traditional Festival Parades taking place in both St. Peter’s and L’Ardoise. There will also be special performances by Tim Faulkner in Lennex Passage, Comedian Tony Quinn followed by Jason Williams in L'Ardoise, and entertainment in St. Peter’s by Krysta McKinnon and also a Ceilidh and Kitchen Racket. Throw in a Poker Walk & Rally, Village Scavenger Hunt, Beer Gardens Auctions, Open Houses and Artisan Market and Baseball Tournaments. With three festivals taking place there will be something to meet everyone’s interest.
Besides the festivals taking place in Richmond, this is also St. Peter’s Regatta Weekend takes place from July 29th to July 31st. Race registration will take place before the skippers meeting, with a charge of $30.00 for non-members and $20.00 for members (one registration fee for the entire weekend. On Friday, July 29th, the Warm Up Races/Short Course will takes place, the skipper’s meeting taking place at 1pm, and the race starts at 2pm. The best place to observe this race is from the deck of the St. Peter’s Visitor Information Centre. July 30th, The MacAskill Cup Race skipper’s meeting is at 10am and the race starts at 12pm from Carters Cove. Following the race there will be an Awards Ceremony, followed by a BBQ Supper for those who take part.
